Best-practice hi-tech investigations

Ensure that digital data is gathered and analysed correctly to prevent case-critical evidence being compromised. Our forensic specialists will provide an end-to-end process, from initial data acquisition through to in-depth data analysis – delivering the clear and jargon-less information you need to resolve your investigations successfully.

QCC provides specialist services for the recovery and analysis of legally admissible evidence from computers and networks. We provide support to organisations across the public and private sectors, including:

  • Commercial organisations

    • Intellectual property
    • Fraud
    • Theft
    • Storage of illegal or indecent material
    • Compliance and regulatory issues
    • Defamation
    • Sexual harassment or bullying
    • Human resources issues

Gathering evidence for intelligence and case investigations
  • Legal teams
Collecting evidence to prove or disprove theories or allegations on behalf of defence or prosecution counsel

Forensically sound processes

Maintaining the integrity of evidence collected is critical for a successful outcome in any computer-based forensic investigation. By simply powering up a computer, the original dates and times on hundreds of files will be altered, irrevocably contaminating potential evidence.

For this reason, our forensic analysts always follow the guidelines set out by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) for dealing with electronic evidence. You can be confident therefore that evidence captured will stand up to legal scrutiny.

In-depth data analysis

As well as offering advanced technical expertise, our highly-skilled forensic team also has extensive investigative experience, with members previously working in a range of law enforcement roles. This makes us ideally positioned to provide an in-depth and independent analysis of the data available.

We proactively examine all types of digital evidence – including email and web usage data – and present findings in a clear, jargon-free report suitable for non-technical readers such as jury members.

Fast-track computer imaging

In situations where, perhaps for funding reasons, organisations wish to conduct forensic analysis in-house, QCC offers a fast-track computer imaging service. This provides you with a forensically sound copy of the data files of the computer device under investigation, ensuring that no changes are made that could corrupt evidence and compromise your investigation.

We pride ourselves on our rapid response service ensuring that you can commence your investigations without delay. In addition, we are able to support your in-house investigation team when seizing digital devices. Either over the phone or in an on-site visit, our experienced team will talk you through the correct procedure to ensure data acquisition is carried out in a way that will preserve the evidence.

Secure seizure, transportation and storage

Our security cleared and experienced staff will help you gain controlled access to exhibits in the most timely, cost-effective and risk- limiting way. We can then optionally seize and securely transport exhibits and maintain them in our environmentally sound and highly secure storage facility ready for processing or return at any time.
